The Leo Baeck Institute in London and the German academic publisher Mohr Siebeck in Tübingen are digitizing 76 titles from the renowned series “Schriftenreihe wissenschaftlicher Abhandlungen des Leo Baeck Instituts” published between 1959 and 2013 as open access e-books under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. This is made possible with the help of funds provided by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior and Home Affairs.

The Leo Baeck Institute’s Schriftenreihe series of scholarly papers is one of the leading publication organs for the history and culture of German-speaking Jewry in Europe. Among the publications are seminal works that are still well received today, such as Selma Stern’s Der Preußische Staat und die Juden (1962–1975), Christian Wiese’s Wissenschaft des Judentums und protestantische Theologie im wilhelminischen Deutschland (1999), as well as the volume Jude, Deutscher, Europäer (1966), in which letters by the founder of academic Judaic studies (Wissenschaft des Judentums) Leopold Zunz are published.
