Chair of History of the Middle Ages
Job requirements and responsibilities:
- Independent development and implementation of a research project focused on Medieval History. The employment would serve as an oppurtunity for further scientific qualification (habilitation/postdoctoral lecture qualification or an equivalent scientific achievement – "second book")
- Participation in the development of new research projects and in the conceptual design and organization of workshops and other academic events, as well as book projects
- Teaching of courses on Medieval History, exam supervision and grading, and student assistance
- Participation in and contribution to all aspects of academic activity, administrative tasks and public relations
Your academic qualifications:
- Doctoral degree / PhD in the history of the Middle Ages
- International research experience
- Record of international publication and presentation of papers
- Openness to interdisciplinary research
- Research interest in institutional history and/or cultural and gender history of the Middle Ages
- Excellent proficiency in Latin
- Proficiency in German, English, and at least one Romance language
The successful candidate will also be expected to:
- Be proactive, self-motivated, independent, and have a team-oriented style of work
- Show interest in Digital Humanities
