Goethe University Frankfurt am Main invites applications for the position of
Professor (W3) of Economic and Social History
at the Department of History at the Faculty of Philosophy and History. This civil servant or public employee position will start as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will represent the subject Economic and Social History in its entirety in teaching and research and will be expected to participate in collaborative research projects. Therefore, excellent research in Economic and Social History (global perspectives are of particular interest) is expected, experience in application for third-party funding is welcome. Also, the professorship will be expected to contribute to the development of the history departments’s course programme (teacher training, BA, MA. Teaching is entirely conducted in German). The successful candidate is taking an active role in the university’s academic self-government institutions.
Habilitation or equivalent achievements, comprehensive teaching experience as well as pedagogical and didactic qualifications are required.
The professorship is also involved in teacher training; experience and concepts for teaching subject content in schools are welcome.
The formal hiring requirements are defined in sections 67, and 68 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
