The School of History at University College Dublin wishes to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level 1) to undertake research upon the history of revolution from global perspective in the era 1890 to 1930. Preference is for candidates with established research interests in the history of Mexico or China, however, candidates with research interests in any area of revolutionary history from this period will be considered. Applications from candidates with a background in Cuban, Philippine, Iranian or Ottoman history are particularly welcome to apply. Should it be required, the university will support an application for a work-visa for the successful candidate.

This position has been created as a part of the Irish Research Council 2018 Laureate Starting Grant ‘Revolutions in the Age of Acceleration. A Global Political History,’ awarded to Dr Mark Jones. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the overall project while producing a publication that explores her/his area of expertise using a global perspective.

Fixed Salary: €37,223 per annum.
