Master in British Studies and two scholarships – extension of deadline

The Centre for British Studies at Berlin’s Humboldt University annually selects twenty-five candidates for its acclaimed interdisciplinary Master in British Studies programme. The M.B.S. is a postgraduate degree course which covers British literature, culture, media, history, law, economy and politics, and which starts every year in October. The 18-month course consists of two semesters of intensive teaching in Berlin, followed by an internship with a company, public institution or other suitable organisation within the United Kingdom and a final period to complete a Master's thesis.

Due to the Centre’s recent move to new premises, this year’s application period will be extended to May 26. Applicants need to have a good first degree in any subject and a very good knowledge of English.

Furthermore, the centre is pleased to announce that two scholarships at a value of 400 Euro per month will be allocated among all applicants. Both academic performance and existing financial means will be taken into account in allocating the scholarships. The Centre for British Studies charges no tuition fees.

For further information on the Centre for British Studies and the Master in British Studies programme as well as further particulars on application materials, see http://www2.hu-berlin.de/gbz
Applications should be sent to Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schlaeger, Großbritannien-Zentrum, Humboldt-Universität, Mohrenstraße 60, 10117 Berlin, Germany by 26 May 2008.
