International Programme for European Studies
Programme - first cycle - 180 credits
What is European Studies at Malmö University?
In order to fully understand Europe and the European Union of today it is not enough with only one national or one scientific perspective. It is necessary to use a multidisciplinary approach, and to do this in an international setting.
European Studies at Malmö University works actively with cross-border cooperation both in our educational programs and in our reseach and societal networks. Our multi- and interdisciplinary approach gives history and culture more space than in many other European Studies programs in Scandinavia.
What can we offer you as a student?
The purpose of the education in European Studies at Malmö University is to give you a European competence, with focus on cultural understanding and critical reflection. Our courses and programs combine humanities with political science in an attempt to provide understanding of this continent, with its changes and diversities. Thus, you achieve a practical, as well as a more comprehensive, competence in European history, politics, geography, communication and other cultural aspects.
