Das strukturierte Promotionsprogramm „Religion – Wissen – Diskurse“ der Humboldt Universität zu Berlin schreibt bis zu 10 Plätze zur Teilnahme am Programm zum 1. Oktober 2016 aus.
Das inter- und transdisziplinär angelegte Promotionsprogramm richtet sich an Promotionsinteressierte sowie an Promovierende, die noch am Anfang ihrer Promotion stehen, unterschiedlicher Wissenschaftsdisziplinen und lädt insbesondere internationale Bewerbungen ein. Die Dissertationsvorhaben sollen auf die Erforschung kommunikativer und diskursiver Prozesse zielen, innerhalb derer die Größen „Religion“ und „Wissen“ konstruiert und konventionalisiert werden. Die Beziehung zwischen Religions- und Wissensdiskursen soll mit Bezug auf konkrete Kontexte kritisch untersucht werden. Dabei wird eine breite geographische Streuung von Themen innerhalb des Programms angestrebt. Besonderes Interesse liegt auf der Gegenwart sowie der Zeit seit dem ausgehenden 18. Jhdt.
Das Programm bietet:
- Individuelle Betreuung in Verbindung mit einem strukturierten Curriculum;
- Fachliche und außerfachliche Lehrangebote;
- Ein jährliches Forschungkolloquium;
- Unterstützung bei der Selbstorganisation von Arbeitsgruppen und -strukturen;
- Nationale und internationale Vernetzung (einschließlich Informationen zu einschlägigen wissenschaftlichen Konferenzen);
- Internationalisierung: Erwünscht ist ein Auslandsaufenthalt (3-12 Monate) zu Forschungszwecken;
- Erwerb und Ausbau von Kompetenzen im Bereich wissenschaftlicher Eigenleistung (wie z.B. Organisation einer Konferenz, selbständige Lehrveranstaltung oder Workshopleitung).
Wichtig: Das Programm verfügt nicht über eigene Stipendien. Vorteilhaft ist daher eine schon gesicherte Finanzierung der Promotionsphase. Bei bisher nicht vorhandener Finanzierung bietet das Programm im Rahmen des Möglichen Unterstützung bei der Suche nach Stipendien oder weiteren Finanzierungsmöglichkeiten an.

The Structured Doctoral Program “Religion – Knowledge – Discourse” (at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin) is accepting applications for up to 10 additional doctoral students to participate in the program due to begin on 1st October 2016.
The program aims to facilitate an enriching inter- and transdisciplinary research environment. As such we are inviting applications from potential and early-stage PhD candidates from a variety of disciplines. Both German and International applicants are encouraged to apply.
Research proposals should be aimed at an investigation of communicative and discursive processes, within which the categories “Religion” and “Knowledge” become constructed and conventionalised. The relationship between discourses relating to religion and knowledge should be critically analyzed with reference to specific contexts.
The program especially encourages a broad geographical spread of topics, as well as inter- and transdisciplinary approaches. Focus may be placed either on current academic issues or on the period of the late 18th century till present day.
The program offers:
- Individual supervision, structured curriculum and academic training to complement your individual research area (e.g. methodologies, interdisciplinary approaches etc.)
- Access to courses and workshops in key research competencies
- A yearly research colloquium
- Group mentoring in self-organizing working groups
- Opportunities for continuous academic exchange and international networking, e.g. through participation in conferences
- Opportunities to develop and strengthen skills important in the field of academia (e.g. organizing a conference or workshop, holding a lecture)
- A 3-12-month research stay abroad (e.g. for fieldwork) is encouraged
Important note: The program does not offer scholarships covering the cost of living of its participants. Program participants are therefore encouraged to independently secure funding for the duration of their doctoral studies. The program offers support to for applications to scholarship agencies.
