The Balzan-FRIAS Project in Global History

Call for Applications: Balzan-FRIAS Masterclass - The Balzan-FRIAS Project in Global History, directed by Jürgen Osterhammel and Stefanie Gänger.
The International Balzan Foundation (Milan/Zurich) is funding a programme in support of early career researchers in the field of Global History. The public lecture and the – non-public – workshop address an audience with an interest in the global and imperial history of science and knowledge, especially, but not exclusively, of Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Ph.D. candidates and PostDocs interested in the programme may send their applications including a CV and a brief statement of interest of no more than 500 words via email to Professor Jürgen Osterhammel (juergen.osterhammel@frias.uni-freiburg.de) by 15 March 2024.
Accommodation costs (one night, on special application two nights) and travel expenses to and from Freiburg will be covered by the Balzan-FRIAS programme.

Workshop with Professor Juan Pimentel
During the workshop, we will discuss follow-up readings related to Juan Pimentel's lecture and general theoretical & methodological problems pertaining to a global history of science.
