Dear colleagues,

The Editorial Board of the University Journal of Military History (RUHM) is pleased to announce a new Call for Papers which, in this case, is double. Precisely, aiming to directly assess the prevailing interests and research lines within military history we have decided to open this CfP to the submission of proposals for coordinating a dossier in future issues, to be determined according to the interests of the journal. We encourage those interested to send a summary ranging from 500 to 600 words specifying the type of dossier they want to set out, to which debates it belongs, why it is considered important or necessary and what contribution it is expected to make. The dossier will be formed by a minimum of four articles and a maximum of seven, all of them delving around the same question. Among the contents, there is also the possibility to translate a foreign article into a non-English language, something that would be borne by the coordinator, maintaining the coherence of the whole dossier. The proposal should contain a list with the names and provisional article’s titles of the different contributors, with which the participation in the dossier would have been agreed. The inclusion of a brief abstract (200 words) detailing the objectives, sources and methodology of each article would be specially valued. The future articles will have to adjust to the style and citation system of the RUHM (http://www.revista-historiamilitar.org/2012/02/normas-de-edicion-para-el-envio-de.html). In its final conception, the dossier should include a methodological and conceptual introductory article in order to justify the whole dossier and for placing it within the specific frame of the debates.

In addition to this, we open a new period for receiving articles and reviews –about books that do not exceed three years since their publication– for the next issue (January 2016). In this sense, the journal is open to receive original articles related to any aspect of military history from ancient times until nowadays, with special preference for innovative works regarding interpretation, sources and methodology and, at the same times, that fix the main lines which form the spirit of the journal (http://www.revista-historiamilitar.org/2012/02/presentacion-nace-la-revista.html).

The deadline for the reception of articles and reviews will be October, 15th 2015, whereas the deadline for dossiers is indefinitely open, although we will periodically remind it in each new CfP. Originals and proposals should be send to secretaria@ruhm.es.

Best,

RUHM Team
