Die Hans und Berthold Finkelstein Stiftung wurde von Bayer 2023 gegründet und sucht derzeit einen Program Director, der die Arbeit der Stiftung leitet. Die Stiftung wird die Arbeit zur Erinnerungskultur und Erforschung des während des Nazi-Regimes erfolgten Unrechts steuern. As a company, Bayer has decided to come to terms with its past under National Socialism more decisively than before. The question of dealing responsibly with the past – especially with the difficult legacy of I.G. Farben – remains a current topic. As a responsible company, Bayer wants to contribute to resilience against anti-Semitism and other totalitarian ideologies, so that history does not repeat itself. From our critical awareness of our own history, we want to derive lessons for our current and future decisions.

In that context Bayer has established Hans and Berthold Finkelstein Foundation, and currently looks for a Managing Director to steer its work. The Foundation will focus on fostering the culture of remembrance and research into the injustice that occurred during the Nazi regime. Programs shall include the support of independent research, especially on I.G. Farben and forced labor, as well as initiatives to strengthen the culture of remembrance, and programs that raise awareness on the threat posed by totalitarian systems and tyranny.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- You will develop the strategy of the Foundation and respective programs, in the Foundation three pillars (research, remembrance and resistance), in line with the input of the members of its Advisory Board

- To steer and implement the Foundation communication strategy will be one of your core responsibilities

-You will identify relevant counterparts and partners to the Foundation, form and steer a community of stakeholders relevant for the objectives of the organization, establishing meaningful partnerships and a meaningful network for enabling its corporate purpose

- You will represent the Finkelstein Foundation for all matters, including interactions with communities, organizations, governments and media

- You will manage the Finkelstein Foundation team, the Foundation budget, and define and implement its operational processes

- Coordinating annual meetings, reporting on the Foundation's activities and seeking the advice and support of the Foundation's Advisory Board will also be an important part of your day-to-day work

- Positioning the Finkelstein Foundation among the most relevant and respected entities dedicated to holocaust remembrance and research as well as resistance against anti Semitism in our days, will be one of your goals

WHO YOU ARE

- You have a master´s degree in History, Public Affairs, or related areas, doctoral degree is of advantage

- A long-term relevant experience and track record in senior managerial functions is also required

- You have experience in foundation or non-profit management as well as in strategy development and public relations

- You have excellent communication skills, strategic mindset, ability to deal with complexity and conflict management

- A proficiency level in German and English, both written and spoken round off your profile
