The Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Tuebingen invites applications for the position of

Professor (W3) of Early Church History, Patrology and Christian Archaeology

commencing on 1 October 2016.

The primary tasks of the successful candidate include teaching Early Church History, Patrology and Christian Archaeology.

He or she is expected to teach early church history, patrology and Christian archaeology in the degree courses offered by the Faculty of Catholic Theology. He or she should be in a position to take on responsibility for the entire spectrum of research and instruction in this subject area at the faculty.

Official duties include participation in the Hohenheim programs of studies and in the administration of the faculty.

Prerequisites for this position are: Professorship status or an equivalent qualification (e.g. PhD and “second book”), as well as a attested didactic qualification at university level. The Faculty also expects internationally respected publications and third-party funding for research projects.
