The Center for the History of Emotions, led by Prof. Dr. Ute Frevert, has a vacant position for a student research assistant 20 hours per month to support the research project “Emotional Transitions: Religious and Non-Religious Emotions in North India, ca. 1840-1920” of Max Stille
Starting date: 1 January 2018
Responsibilities:
- Bibliographical research in Urdu primary and secondary sources
- Independent excerption of primary and secondary sources
- Sourcing of literature
Requirements:
- Enrolment as a student (PhD students are NOT eligible) in a Berlin or Brandenburg (county) university
- At least two study semesters in history, South Asian Studies or related field of study
- Knowledge of Urdu essential (good reading skills)
- High personal motivation, ability to work independently and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines and to work without direct supervision
- Knowledge of German or English desired
