A unique opportunity to acquire training in intellectual history and the history of political thought: this one-year MA is an intercollegiate programme of the University of London jointly administered by University College London (UCL) and Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL). It draws on an impressively wide range of intellectual historians across the London universities, among them Quentin Skinner, Gareth Stedman Jones, Gregory Claeys, Valentina Arena, Hannah Dawson, Angus Gowland, Richard Bourke, Georgios Varouxakis, Axel Körner, and Avi Lifschitz.

The programme offers advanced training in intellectual history, the history of political thought and the history of philosophy, spanning the period from the ancient world to the twenty-first century. The MA also provides students with essential grounding in the various methods and approaches associated with the study of the history of thought developed over the past quarter-century in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Applications are welcome from graduates of departments of history, politics, literature, international relations, law, theology, philosophy, and history of science.
