DFG Kolleg-Forschungsgruppe "RomanIslam" (Humanities, Asien-Afrika-Institut, Islamic Studies) invites applications for a RESEARCH ASSOCIATE for the project “Romanization and Islamication in Late Antiquity - Transcultural Processes on the Iberian Peninsula and in North Africa” (salary level 13 TV-L).
The position commences on June1st, 2021.This is a fixed-term contract and the term is fixed until March31st, 2024.The position calls for 65% of standard work hours per week.

The applicant is expected to conduct doctoral studies in a field relevant to the region of early Islamic/Medieval North Africa/ Maghreb (Ifriqiya) and the Iberian Peninsula within the foci of the RomanIslam Center.
