2 two-year Post-Doctoral Fellowships

As part of the IRCHSS-funded research project ‘Paramilitary Violence in Europe after the Great War (1918-1923)’, Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and University College Dublin (UCD) are offering two Post-Doctoral Fellowships for candidates wishing to undertake research on the history of paramilitary violence after the Great War from an international comparative perspective. The principal investigators of this project are Prof. John Horne and Dr Robert Gerwarth. Applications from scholars working on Eastern and Central Europe or Ireland are particularly encouraged, but all other applications are also welcome.
In order to apply intending applicants must
(a) have successfully completed a PhD degree in a field relevant to the subject area of the research project by 1 September 2008
(b) give a brief description (500 words) of the potential research to be undertaken including a section on the methodology involved
(c) submit a full CV (including all publications to date) along with two academic references
The funding of the Fellowships follows the levels and conditions laid down under the IRCHSS Post-Doctoral Scheme. The salary will be EUR 31,745 p.a. plus travel allowances.
