Predrag Cvetičanin and Miran Lavrič are guest editors of this issue’s thematic section focusing on "Household Strategies in the Period of Economic Crisis".
The special section focuses on Bosnia-Herzegowina, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia. The contributions result from the project "Life-Strategies and Survival Strategies of Households and Individuals in Southeast European Societies in Times of Crisis", which was carried out 2014 - 2016 in the framework of the SCOPES programme and financed by the Swiss National Fund. The network of participating institutions was located in Zurich, Niš, Split, Maribor, and Sarajevo. The issue also contains further contributions from the conference ‘Freedom and Necessity. Lifestyles and Coping Strategies in Times of Economic Crisis’, which was organized in the framework of the project in October 2015 in Split, Croatia.
